TLS - Maine State Police

On March 8, 2021, an armed suspect entered the home of his ex-girlfriend at 230 am and took her family hostage in a small town in Maine.  When police arrived on scene, the suspect threw a pipe bomb at the patrol officers which prompted a SWAT activation. The Maine State Police SWAT Team as well as Bomb teams from ME and NH and FBI were all activated to assist with the problem.  It soon became apparent that the suspect had not only taken the family hostage but had placed explosive devices on the windows and doors of the house.  What ensued was a 19-hour complicated hostage rescue involving numerous jurisdictions and specialties.
